Photo #2 – 242 Renewal

242 Renewal, originally uploaded by brockney52.

It’s that time again – time to make New Year’s resolutions and then try to keep them for more than one day. The New Year always brings with it hope for fresh beginnings, anything-can-happen bravado, and a longing to renew the current lifestyle. By February, however, most of my resolutions have died of neglect.

I’ve stopped making resolutions that require me to stop doing something, and started making resolutions that encourage me to start doing something. Maybe I’ll be more successful at the second kind…

Did you make any resolutions this year? What’s your success rate?

Beautiful colourful photo and very sound resolutions.

    Happy New Year!

  2. Mike says:

I find myself doing more of #3 myself……Resolution #1: Get to the gym..

    Fabulous color in this image.

    Resolved this year – um….. ;-)

I too need to get moving more (have no problem from spring until winter) especially in the winter time. Also to try to make changes by taking baby steps or “mousie bites” as my Grandma used to say when teaching me embroidery. Those may be more sustainable in the long term. Another would be to try to keep a positive inner voice. Best wishes for success with your goals. I like your brightly colored setting for the list…portrays such a positive happy feeling!

  5. I like the resolutions and I wish I could do all of them all year :-) Ill try to post photos this year to but I wont reach all 365, I decided not to be stressed by that number from the beginning

The sit on butt at computer resonates with me, too! There is always one thing or another that I “need” to do. And I’m always chiding myself that I need to get away from it and have a more “normal” relationship with my computer. I’d make a resolution, but I know I’d fail.

Love the colors in this image and the clarity. I also like the angle because I feel like I’m sitting in front of it.

By the way, if you want to expand your reading list… I have great suggestions over here: http://bookreview.mostlyfiction.com/

Thanks for that link, Judi. That’s just what I need to get started with some challenging new books.

Colorful and meaningful photo. Good resolutions. I resolve to get moving and take more photos so I can sit in front of my computer and photoshop to my hearts content. Is chocolate healthy food?

  8. Kim says:

Love the busy-ness of the photo and the vivid colors. Cheerful and encouraging. I don’t make resolutions because they are the source of too much guilt and angst when I break them — and I always break them. I like your idea of going for a positive trend, and everything on your list sounds good to me.

  9. Danudin says:

One Resolution – Don’t make resolutions! Bugger I’ve blown it already!

  10. Erica says:

I love the colors in this picture, and your very ambitious list of resolutions. Good luck in keeping them.

  11. Terri says:

That is a list I need as well. Especially since my job is in front of the computer. Would love to get out of the office. Love the bright and distinct colors.

  12. Tammy says:

Last year I made no resolutions, I figured if I didn’t make them I couldn’t fail lol This year it is to get more healthy (which means exercise, ugh)! I love the bright colors surrounding your list….it makes it all look doable! :)

  13. Mary Lou says:

Fun interpretation of the theme. I love all of the colors in this. I really don’t make New Year’s resolutions anymore because my expectations usually met with failure!! I think anything I accomplish is a step in the right direction. :)

  14. Becki says:

I don’t usually do resolutions. Most of my goals are made as I see a need for them, and I don’t renew them just based on the date ;)
    Love the bright photo colors!

  15. Tony says:

very nice foto, vivid colors, and healthy resolutions – that will work also for me!

  16. Cathy says:

Love your table cloth! And can echo most of your resolutions too :-)

  17. Gisele says:

“Don’t sit on butt in front of computer all day” – I could have written this myself, if I actually wrote resolutions! I love the colors, especially on the paper.

  18. Madelaine says:

What a wonderfully colorful image! No, I gave up on resolutions a couple of years ago. Tired of failing!!!

  19. Sheila says:

I love your list! I have to hope you encourage me and I’ll encourage you!

  20. Julie McLeod says:

That ‘don’t sit on butt…….’ one seems to resonate with a lot of us! Maybe we should have a fitness/photography challenge next year….
