Trey Ratcliff’s article about the death of the DSLR  (see this post) brought an interesting spectrum of comments and observations from my readers.

Thank you, Gerald Blaquiere, for sharing with us this very informative article by Molly McHugh on the Digital Trends site. Molly observes that the real losers to the new mirrorless cameras will be the low-cost point-and-shoots and not the DSLRs.  Read the article – you’ll like it!

In the spirit of expanding the camera repertoire, I took my old Canon SX10 IS (superzoom) to the beach with me today.

I used a free Lightroom preset (Walk on the beach) from Isabelle Lafrance to process this image. I also bumped up the saturation of the blues and added a Color type vignette in Lightroom.
