Watching old home movies is so much fun!
These two cats live in the barn at the farm. Barney, above, is very friendly and affectionate. She runs over to be petted whenever we visit
Noname, below, is a feral cat and very skittish around people. He follows Barney around closely. He thinks he’s hiding in the forsythia.

Happy Easter, Everyone!
This crazy bird perched on my deck symbolizes impossible hope for me. He and his mate have been building a precarious nest in the rain gutter above my bedroom window.
They sing their little hearts out at dawn and chirrup constantly during the day. They perch on the deck and scout the area before flying up to their refuge. I had to take this photo through the window and screen door.
Will their nest survive a downpour? Will their babies be safe? They certainly hope so. They remind me of this poem by Emily Dickinson – the essence of Easter.
Hope
“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune–without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I’ve heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.”
